If you accidentally use a function name that doesn't exist:
set_custom_top_level_module alsfdjlasdjf

LegUp has an assertion:
llc: Allocation.cpp:250: llvm::CallGraphNode*
legup::Allocation::getRootNode(llvm::CallGraph*): Assertion `rootF' failed.
